Beata’s inspiring journey at MWS
When the global team grows, you grow: Beata’s inspiring journey at Muehlhan Wind Service
Before joining Muehlhan Wind Service (MWS), Beata gained experience from her 8 years in recruitment in the industrial sector.
At MWS, Beata initially started as a recruiter and worked in this role for 1.5 years before being promoted to Senior Recruiter, and subsequently becoming the Team Lead.
Working with people comes naturally to Beata, who is a very talkative person. At the beginning, when she was handling the entire recruitment process herself, Beata engaged with many technicians.
The entire world was Beata’s workspace
An experience that stands out in Beata’s recruitment role was her ability to travel the world. She especially valued traveling to Brazil as it was not something she would have been able to do in her personal life. Conducting the interviews with technicians face-to-face always made a good impression, making it easier for everyone to remember each other.
Personal growth: from solo performer to team player
However, as the team grew and began handling more of the recruitment process, letting go of control proved to be challenging for Beata:
“I was the first recruiter in MWS so I was doing everything on my own. It was challenging for me when we hired more recruiters because I used to be a single player, but now I’m a team player. Now I know that my team can do the work even better than I can”.
Now, in her new role as Team Lead, Beata has taken a step back, supporting her team, letting them do what they do best.
“This is the part I like the most because I can see how they are growing and working hard. I also like making people better at what they do, improving their recruitment skills, and helping them be more comfortable and independent”.
Overcoming personal challenges
When asked about her biggest challenge during her time at MWS, Beata reflects on this specific transition mentioned above – going from a one-woman-band in recruitment to becoming a Team Lead. She credits the shift in her attitude for helping her reach where she is today.
“It was really hard for me to trust that someone else could do my work. I think that was my biggest step - learning to trust people. I decided to find a way and understand that everyone doesn’t work the same way I do. I needed to provide my team with more flexibility so that we could find a common ground in the way we work and communicate. Today, we are not only colleagues, but friends as well, who share personal stories from our lives”, Beata explains.
The Danish culture: flexibility and trust
Beata enjoys working at a company with Danish roots. She values the high level of flexibility and trust that is rooted in the company culture at MWS:
“I can choose how to solve my tasks and use the methods of my choice. The flexibility and trust here are amazing. I know that my manager trusts me. He knows that I will deliver”, Beata proudly shares.
Having worked at MWS for 4 years, Beata has been a part of the company’s rapid growth journey. Founded in 2017, MWS now employs 3,000+ people across 35 countries. Beata notices how the company has progressed in the way they organize teams and processes:
“In the early days, we didn’t have the People & Culture department, so if we had any issues we didn’t know who to reach out to. Now there is a lot of structure, and we have procedures and processes in place, making our work life easier”.
MWS invests in their employees
When asked about the culture, Beata also mentions the people-focused activities such as the annual Christmas party, the summer party, and team building events. She also values the opportunity to upgrade one’s professional skills through courses, which she highly appreciates:
“When I worked at other companies prior to joining MWS, we never had the opportunity to take professional courses – only if we paid out of our own pockets. This is something I really appreciate at Muehlhan Wind Service: they want to invest in their employees and make them even stronger”.
What does the future hold?
Regarding the future at MWS, Beata is optimistic, yet focused on the present.
“I’m not focusing on what can happen in 2-3 years. I know that we are growing and that Muehlhan is acquiring new companies - and I’m open to all of the changes. I know that the changes are only for good reasons and add a lot of value to the company. Right now, I’m focusing on leveling up my team”, Beata concludes.
